Apparently this deflated kickball is the best thing ever. It’s fun for a boy (as seen in our “kick hat” post) & a girl. LOL.
Katie brought her baby kitty on our morning walk to school. She said, “Sssshhh Mommy. Kitty is sleeping in her tuck.”. What is a tuck? Apparently it’s a baby carrier made out of a deflated kickball.

So the kids have been good since getting home and ate all their dinner. I go to get them each a scoop of ice cream. William asks if he can pick something different for dessert.
Mommy: “Like what?”
William: “Can I have a candy bar?”
Mommy: “We don’t have candy bars.”
William: “Yes we do. I promise.”
Mommy: “What do they look like?”
William: (lots of thinking) “I don’t know.”
Mommy: “What are they called? What do they taste like?”
William: (lots more thinking) “I don’t know.”
At this point we’ve been standing, staring at the pantry for 5 minutes. He keeps looking. Daddy rounds the corner with a grin on his face.
Mommy: “Did Daddy give you candy bars for dessert one night?”
William: (acting shy) “Yes.”
At this point I realize that Daddy bought Halloween candy and hid it. William looks up at a smirking Daddy.
William: “Mommy said I could pick my dessert. I want candy bars. You know… Sneakers… And twigs.”
HAHAHA!!! How cute. Instead of Snickers & Twix they’re sneakers & twigs. And Mommy knows Daddy hides candy in his empty Creatine jar. LOL.

A cold front blew through last night! It was a nippy 57 degrees this morning. Time to whip out the jackets for the walk to school. (Notice the shorts. There will be a high of 89 today.) hehehe

William took an interest in learning how to snap his fingers this weekend. (Chris is really good at snapping loudly to get the kids’ attention.) William has been practicing non-stop.
He must’ve mastered it during school today because tonight at soccer practice he was running, dribbling the ball & snapping all the while.
Do you remember when you learned to snap your fingers?

Do most of our stories start with Katie & I walking William to school or is it just me? Well this morning as we walk out the front door, she grabs her baby kitty & her purse. She looked so much like a little mommy.
As we walk back it hits me… What on earth does a 4 year old carry in her purse? After Daddy takes her to school, Mommy takes a peek.
3 necklaces, Hello Kitty lip gloss & glitter nail polish, a talking mirror, 5 Hello Kitty bunny figurines, Katie stickers, a ponytail holder & a game spinner. Ya. Cuz you never know when you might need a game spinner. LOL.

We thought it would be a fun Sunday treat for the kids if we took them for a late lunch / early dinner downtown at Hut’s Hamburgers. Cheeseburgers… French fries… Milkshakes…
Good stuff. Good times. Right? Not the case.
We got there & gave William the option of a milkshake, rootbeer or (best of both worlds) rootbeer float. Katie had already chosen a pink (strawberry) milkshake. William decided he wanted the same. Daddy suggests to the waiter to split one between them. They say they want their own. Well, we are here for a fun, special treat. We agree to get them each their own. Evil parents.
It takes awhile for the milkshakes to arrive. The kids are fighting over the etch-a-sketch. Finally milkshakes arrive. Whipped cream & cherry ontop. Yum! Well, evil parents got them milkshakes made with vanilla ice cream & real strawberries… Not made with fake, pink, strawberry ice cream. After they eat the cherries, Katie proceeds to suck up a swig of the shake, and spit it out. She “doesn’t like it.” Crying begins.
We order. Chris gets a hickory burger. I get one with guacamole, monterey jack cheese & bacon. I can only eat half a burger so I’ll scrape off the guacamole and give the kids each a quarter. Nope. They can see green. Both refuse to eat. Katie will only eat onion ring batter dipped in “blood”. William eats a couple french fries. Whining ensues.
We explain to the children that this is all we get for dinner. We are not going to eat again later. Eat now or go to bed hungry. This is when William decides to lay down in my lap. Katie is done but wants to dance in the isles & come pretend to hug me while actually hitting William on the head. She continually disobeys. We pay & get ready to leave. Chris carries her out.
At this point I realize William fell asleep in my lap. The booths are very small. Do you know how difficult it is to lift a sleeping 45 lb child out of a booth?? I get outside & hear Katie crying the whole way to the car.
As Chris sets Katie down on the sidewalk to lead her to her side of the car, she lays down. On the curb of 6th Street crying & screaming, “don’t pank me! don’t pank me!”
The wind blows my ponytail into William’s face & he smiles. It seems as if William was fake sleeping. Not sure. Both kids are in trouble. We get home, bathe them & they go to bed at 7pm. Evil parents.

William had a soccer game on Saturday. He’s doing so much better about not sticking to defense. He made 3 goals!!! He is also doing really well at passing the ball to his teammates.

As Katie & I were walking home from taking William to school, she begins her explanation of why she should not go to school. I have been suffering from allergies recently & have lost my voice. She has been paying attention.
Katie: When we are sick & our voices don’t work, we don’t go to school.
Mommy: Well. If we are sick & have a fever we don’t go to school. But if we don’t have a fever, we do go to school.
Katie: I have a fever.
Mommy: Oh really? How can you tell?
Katie: I can smell it.
Mommy: What does it smell like?
Katie: Farts.
