…and if you don’t know who that is… I’m not Martha Stewart either.
I just re-read my holiday letter that went out with our Christmas cards. I have a typo. Poo.
So to all of you who read holiday letters as if you were editor of a newspaper or magazine (like me… I just can’t help it), I say, “yes. I know there is a typo.”
It says William lost is first tooth instead of his first tooth. Oh well. I am human.
And I’m not gonna spend the time and money on more paper & printer toner to fix it. Yea me for being practical and frugal!

I’m seriously considering my winning dance post. “I win… I win… I win, I win, I win…” in a taunting fashion.
I totally still love you, though.

Sometimes I really crack myself up. Tonight, after shower, this conversation happened between William and me:
William: Mommy, want to play hide & seek?
Me: Yes. You hide in your bed and I’ll find you in the morning.
ROFLMAO!!!

…and don’t come back again, okay?
Alright, alright. I know that’s too much to ask. And are these allergens providing some other necessary function like how unwanted creatures eat spiders? Probably. But gosh darn! I’m tired of being “sick”.
I felt feverish last Thursday & stayed home. Friday was better. We went down to 6th Street that night for a friend’s surprise birthday bash. I felt the drainage down my throat but that’s Texas allergies for ya. We only stayed 2 hours, but the 2nd hour was spent yelling at those around me because we were right next to the very loud live music. By the time we left I was hoarse.
The next morning I woke up with no voice. Felt fine, but couldn’t talk. Went to a football game. Had to yell the first quarter because we weren’t doing as well as I expected & YES it does help the team if I yell while the opposing team’s offense is trying to change their play! By the 2nd quarter it was no use so I just clapped as loud as I could & kept my mouth shut.
By Sunday it was hard to catch enough breath to try to get words out. Chris hooked me up with a coffee can with coins inside to rattle at the kids to get their attention.
Monday I went to work, but everyone around me swore I was sick. That night I guess everything drained into my right ear. Woke up with an ear ache. Stayed home. Worked from home a little bit.
Back at work today but it’s all in my chest. I’m so ready to be done with it. Luckily no one else in our house has been affected.

On Friday I thought I’d be a super fun mommy & pick Katie up from school, go fetch the kids’ bicycles from home, & she & I would pickup William from YMCA so they could ride their bikes home. As my husband says “no good deed goes unpunished.”
As she pedaled over there, I walked William’s bike. They were both excited to ride bikes home. Well obviously they are faster than me walking. After William got in trouble once for going too far ahead, I decided to have them ride behind me.
Genius. As soon as the thought enters my head & I’m about to tell the kids to watch their distance between their bikes & me… Katie slams her front tire into my left Achilles. I screamed! Had to call Chris to come pick us up. It was traumatic. Katie cried because she said making me cry made her cry. Aawwww.
This happened 72 hours ago… My ankle is now swollen, bruised & scraped.
I can’t believe I went to the football game like this. Oh wait, yes I can.

Chris. Duh.
It started at 5:50am. Yes. On a Saturday. Katie came into our room. Instead of shushing her back to sleep, Chris got out the telescope & looked at the moon, stars & a nebula with her.
I had a hair appointment (it is crucial to keep the self esteem up by covering grays). Chris took the kids to their first soccer games of the season all by himself. AND played paparazzi for me too!
When I returned he was already feeding them lunch and had done three loads of laundry!!!! That’s my job, so totally & completely unexpected.
THEN he “babysits” the kids so I can go to the UT vs. Rice football game. (we won 52-10)
So, yes, my husband, Chris Errett gets the husband of the year award. Thank you, honey!!!

So now that the boy is in kindergarten, we seem to be going through milk double-time. We were completely out & instead of just making a quick stop we decided I would pick William up & take him with me for a full blown trip to H-E-B.
I was in all out dingbat mode. The cereal section of the list said “nutrigrain bars filled with yogurt x3″ & “cereal bars x2 (whatever brand on sale)”. So I then see that the yogurt bars are on sale. So I get 2 of those and 1 regular cereal bar. Three does not equal five, Shannon.
Next we have the dairy section. Remember? The whole reason for the trip? List says, “milk x2 & eggs.” I buy 2 things of eggs. *roll eyes*
William & I check out, go get in the car, start to back out & I think to myself “I don’t think I bought milk. I could’ve sworn it was on the list.” It also occurs to me at this point that I bought cube steak to cook a yummy meal I haven’t made in forever. But what good is chicken fried steak without self-rising flour or gravy. Ugh. Back inside we go…
I was so frustrated with myself but luckily had a cute kid with me. “Mommy? Can I carry the flour & a milk to the car?” He didn’t realize how heavy those two items were. He made it all the way to the car with the flour… Barely.

UPDATE: It’s even worse than I thought. Chris just asked me where the cereal was that I bought last night… he couldn’t find it this morning. My reply? Cereal wasn’t on the list. (this is where I pull up the google doc he sent me for shopping) OMG. I cannot believe this. It didn’t say cereal bars x2. It said CEREAL x2. Now we have no cereal. Way to go, Mom.

Get your mind out of the gutter!!
So seriously… At William’s school the gymnasium is carpeted. What’s up with that? Since when did they do away with the awesome wood floors? My kid is gonna miss out on that unforgettable sound of sneakers squeeking on a gym floor!
